The Mary Baldwin men's and women's tennis teams completed the 2024-25 campaign with 7-0 non-conference losses at Roanoke Friday. The Fighting Squirrels' men's team finished with a 3-11 overall record, the most wins in a season in team history. Meanwhile the women's squad closed out with a 2-13 mark for the second-straight season. Both teams were winless in USA South conference play.
In the men's match, Elian Jimenez won three games in the first set of the #2 singles battle while
Adrian Reyes rebounded from an 0-6 first set to winning a pair of games in the second set. The #1 doubles team of
Eric Leyton and Talon Brunson, who both won one game in their respective singles matches, along with the #3 doubles team of
Brandon Murphy and
Brandon Kincaid, each won two games in their doubles matches.
In the women's match,
Harmony Crawford was MBU's top player at #5 singles, battling before falling by a 6-4, 6-3 margin.
Deanna Chapman also won two games in her #2 singles match.
