STAUNTON,VA- Mary Baldwin women's basketball improved to 4-1 with a 89-22 home win against Trinity (D.C.) on Monday night. The Fighting Squirrels are sitting in first place in the USA South East Division in non-conference play.
The Fighting Squirrels had 15 different players contribute to their scoring efforts and opened the game with 27-0 run. Mary Baldwin was led by Leah Calhoun who put up double-digit points for the fifth straight game, tallying 12 points, 3 assists and 3 steals. First-year guard, Hannah Varner added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
"It was a great team win leading us into the holiday, as well as our Thanksgiving tournament this coming weekend," said Head Coach Ross James after the win.
The Fighting Squirrels will return to action on the road Saturday, November 24th at 6PM at the Penn State Harrisburg Tournament.
