STAUNTON, Va. – The Mary Baldwin University women's soccer program returns to the varsity ranks this fall and has revealed its 2019 schedule.
The Fighting Squirrels start off the year on the road at Sweet Briar on Aug. 30 beginning at 5 pm, before playing the first game at the new SMA Worth Field on Sept. 4 against Hollins at 5 pm.
MBU alternates between home and away contests for the next five games, including Wilson (Sept. 11) and Marymount (Sept. 18) at home. The squad returns to USA South Athletic Conference action on the road at William Peace on Sept. 28 to open the league schedule.
On Oct. 5, the Fighting Squirrels host N.C. Wesleyan at noon and take on Methodist in Staunton the following day, also scheduled for a 12 pm start. The next three games are on the road, including a nonconference tilt with Trinity Washington (Oct. 9) and league matches with Pfeiffer (Oct. 12) and Greensboro (Oct. 15).
MBU returns home to face Meredith (Oct. 19) and Averett (Oct. 23) before closing the conference slate at Salem (Oct. 26). The final regular season game takes place at home against Trinity Washington on Oct. 30 at 5 pm.
In total, 17 matches are slated with eight coming at home.
