Volleyball Competes in USA South Tri-Match

RALEIGH, N.C.- The Mary Baldwin University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches in a USA South Tri-Match, hosted by Meredith College, on Saturday.

The Fighting Squirrels fell in the first match to Methodist, 3-0, before dropping the second contest to Meredith by the same score.

Against the Monarchs, Rachel Christian led the way with 12 kills to go along with seven digs, while Michaela Beverly finished with seven kills on .500 hitting. Deborah Black also tallied six kills and four digs.

Brittany Sharon led the team with 11 digs, while Emma Tomlinson paced the team with 22 assists.

In the second match, Christian again led the way with nine kills to go with four digs. Tomlinson had a team high eight assists, while Katherine Bryant paced the team with nine digs.

The Fighting Squirrels return to action on Thursday, Oct. 10, in the PAC against Roanoke beginning at 7 pm.
