STAUNTON, Va. – The Mary Baldwin University men's and women's cross country teams have unveiled their upcoming 2019 schedule, which was announced on Wednesday.
Both men's and women's teams will begin the season on Aug. 31 as they travel to the Bridgewater XC Challenge, hosted by Bridgewater College. The following weekend, the teams will host the Golden Acorn Invitational, which will be the second straight year MBU has hosted a cross country meet after a three-year layoff.
The Fighting Squirrels will have two weeks before their next meet in Cary, North Carolina, at the Adidas XC Challenge on Sept. 20, while the following day the teams will have a chance to preview the USA South championship course as it runs in the N. C. Wesleyan XC Classic.
On Oct. 5, MBU returns to the course at the Don Cathcart Invitational, which is hosted by Salisbury University, and will sit idle for 14 days before running in the Hood College Open on Oct. 19. The schedule ends with the USA South Conference Championship meet on Nov. 2 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
In total, there are seven events on the schedule before NCAA regional meets in mid-November.
