HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Mary Baldwin University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the EMU Mennonite Heritage Cross Country Invitational on Friday night.
On the women's side, MBU had five runners finish in the top 20 individually as it placed third in the team scoring.
Brianna Parker led the way for the Fighting Squirrels as she crossed the finish line of the 5k course in 24:01.2 to finish ninth, while Stephanie Barbero and Morgan Laferte finished with times of 24:39.0 and 24:48.1, respectively. Josephina Reeder came in 14th place with a time of 25:18.7, while Quinland Musgrove rounded out the scoring with a time of 26:23.1.
On the men's side, Justice Waller was the top finisher with a time of 25:44.8, while Matthew Plotner crossed the finish line in 26:00.4. Joseph Widger and Douglas Drummond finished in 26:21.7 and 34:45.7, while Mohammad Alamdar finished with a time of 37:12.9.
The Fighting Squirrels are idle for two weeks before competing at the N.C Wesleyan XC Classic that will serve as a preview for the USA South championship course later this year.
