Staunton, VA - The Mary Baldwin College soccer team lost to Averett University 8-0 this afternoon on the campus of Mary Baldwin College.  The Cougars (12-2, 6-1 USA South) scored their first goal less than 2 minutes into the game and never looked back.  They finished the day with 23 shots while Mary Baldwin had only 5 shots.  The Fighting Squirrels missed Senior Goalkeeper Erica Gaughan who is out with a broken hand.  Sophomore Amanda Kegley and Junior Samantha Thomas shared time in the goal and each had 5 saves in the game.  The Fighting Squirrels (5-7, 1-6 USA South) will be back in action at home Sunday afternoon when they take on the Ferrum Panthers at 2:00PM.
