Box Score Staunton, VA - The Ferrum College Panthers improved their record
to 9-6-2, (5-2-1 USAS) this afternoon by defeating the Mary Baldwin
College soccer team 9-1. The Panthers scored their first goal
within the first five minutes and added two more before the
half. Mary Baldwin College sophomore Kalli Johnson added one
for Mary Baldwin making the score 2-1 at the half. In the
second half, Ferrum's Megan Webb added two of the six goals scored
in that half while teammate LaQuinta Garrett added two assists to
help the Panthers take the win. Ferrum finished with 33 shots
for the game while Mary Baldwin had 3. Sophomore Amanda
Kegley and Junior Samantha Thomas shared the goal for the Fighting
Squirrels. Kegley finished with 3 saves while Thomas added
11.
The Fighting Squirrels will be back in action Friday evening
when they travel to Shenandoah University for their final game of
the season.
