Raleigh, NC - Meredith College snapped a four game winless streak this afternoon when they defeated Mary Baldwin 8-1.  Merdith scored first at the 13 minute mark then added another 10 minutes later. Samantha Thomas, assisted by Freshman Caitlin Novak, then answered for Mary Baldwin making the score 2-1 at the half.

In the second half, it was all Meredith as the Avenging Angels ran off 6 unanswered goals.  They outshot the Fighting Squirrels 47-2 in the game.  Senior Goalkeeper Erica Gaughan had 28 saves for Mary Baldwin who fall to 5-6, 1-5 USAS.

The Fighting Squirrels will have some time to prepare for their next contest when they take on Averett University at home on October 22.
