Ferrum, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team got its first USA South Conference win this evening in a close match against Ferrum College.  The Fighting Squirrels took the first game 28-26 then lost the next two 21-25 and 20-25.  MBC came back in the 4th set 25-21 then took the decisive set 15-12.  Freshman Karla Bethea led the team in kills with 14.   She was followed closely by Sophomore Tiffany Flesher with 13 kills and Freshman LaToya Diggs with 12 kills and 12 digs.  Senior Candace Pettway led the team in digs with 20 while Junior Paige Babb finished the night with 43 assists.  Mary Baldwin College improves their record to 2-14, 1-7 USAS while Ferrum falls to 0-13, 0-9 USA South.  

Mary Baldwin College will be back in action Friday evening as they travel to Randolph College then play a conference tri-match on Saturday at Meredith College.
