Box Score STAUNTON, VA - Meredith College improved their record to 10-4
this afternoon after easily defeating Mary Baldwin College 9-0 in
soccer.
The Avenging Angels took the lead with less than 2 minutes into
the game when Danielle Lee scored off of a corner kick.
Rachel Didier scored their second goal off of a pass from Danielle
Lee during a breakaway.
Meredith College controlled the game throughout, finishing
with seventeen corner kicks to Mary Baldwin's one. The
Avenging Angels also outshot the Fighting Squirrels 21-5.
Meredith scored six of their goals in the first half.
Brittany Millice scored their third goal at the 12:24 mark, while
Morgan Edwards followed at 26:05 to give Meredith a comfortable 4-0
lead. Taylor Brown added another goal at 41:09. The
final goal of the period bounced off of an MBC player to make the
score 6-0 at the half.
Meredith continued to substitute freely in the second half and
added three more goals for the afternoon.
Kayla Childers anchored the goal during the first period for MBC
finishing with 2 saves. Erin Dullahan was the goalkeeper for
the Fighting Squirrels during the second half and also finished
with 2 saves.
Mary Baldwin College (4-7, 0-7 USA South) will be back in action
Sunday afternoon at home against William Peace University.
Game time is 2:00 PM.
