Newport News, VA - Christopher Newport University, currently ranked 5th in the country, easily defeated Mary Baldwin College in three sets 25-3, 25-9, and 25-11.

The Captains dominated in every statistic, finishing with 36 kills, 35 assists, and 14 service aces. Defensively, the Fighting Squirrels didn't fair any better having half the number of digs (20) to CNU's total of 40.  

Sophomore LaToya Diggs contributed 3 kills for Mary Baldwin.  She was followed closely by Sophomore Jonquil Brown (2) and Freshman Kayla Wheeler (2).  Senior Paige Babb added 8 assists.

LaToya Diggs and Sophomore Sara Valdivieso each finished with 6 digs.

Mary Baldwin College (0-21, 0-9) will travel to Mary Washington on Saturday for a non-conference matchup before finishing their season next week at home celebrating both "Dig Pink" night on Friday and Senior Day on Saturday, October 27.
