Ferrum, VA - The volleyball team played its closest match this season losing to Ferrum College 23-25, 23-25, and 17-25 Wednesday evening.

The Panthers finished with 34 kills compared with Mary Baldwin's 20 total kills.  Kharla Bethea again led the Fighting Squirrels with 5 kills.  She was followed closely by Jonquil Brown and LaToya Diggs with 4 kills each.  Senior setter Paige Babb again led the team in assists with 8.

 Defensively, Ferrum finished with 34 digs while MBC had 31.  Kayla Wheeler again led Mary Baldwin with 11 digs.  

The Panthers also had a slight edge on reception errors (5) while the Fighting Squirrels finished with 11 reception errors. Mary Baldwin did play better at the net with 5 total blocks to Ferrum's 3 total blocks. MBC also had 10 block assists while Ferrum had none.

Mary Baldwin College (0-14, 0-3) will be back in action Friday when they travel to N.C. Wesleyan College to play in a tri-match with N.C. Wesleyan College and Greensboro College.
