Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College basketball team fell to
0-5 this evening with a 34-61 loss to Southern Virginia.
The Knights outscored MBC 18-5 in the final 12 minutes of
the half to take a comfortable 31-17 lead into the locker room.
SVU used defensive pressure to create 29 MBC turnovers.
Eighteen of those occured in the first half. SVU also
turned the opportunities into points scoring 29 points off of
turnovers in the game.
The visitors also outshot the home team making 46.4% of
their attempts inside the arch while Mary Baldwin could only
convert on 30% of their shots. SVU also made 55.6% beyond the
arch while Mary Baldwin sank 31.6% of their three point
shots.
Shanice
Miles led Mary Baldwin with 18 points making five three point
shots with less than 9 minutes remaining in the game. Jazmine
Brooks added 9 points.
Miles also led MBC in rebounds pulling down 7. Tejava
Ivory came off of the bench and also pulled down 7
rebounds.
Mary Baldwin College 0-5 (0-2 USAS) will be back in action at
home Thursday evening when they host Randolph College. Game
time is 7:00PM.
