Chambersburg, PA - The Mary Baldwin College soccer team defeated Wilson College 3-0 this afternoon in their season opener.  The Fighting Squirrels jumped out to an early lead when Sophomore Caitlin Novak scored her first goal of the season at the 22:41 mark.  Freshman Brenda Santamaria added a second goal just before the half, the first of her college career, to give MBC a 2-0 halftime lead.  

The Fighting Squirrels outshot Wilson 7 to 6 in the first half.  Also during that time, Mary Baldwin's freshman goalie, Erin Dullahan had two saves to Wilson's three.  Dullahan anchored the goal for the entire 90 minutes and finished with 6 saves.

Caitlin Novak scored her second goal of the game giving Mary Baldwin the 3-0 lead at the 66:55 mark.  Mary Baldwin finished the game with 12 shots while Wilson had 13 attempts.

The Fighting Squirrels, 1-0 (0-0 USA South) will host Gallaudet Tuesday at 4:00 PM in their first home game of the 2012 season.
