Box Score Staunton, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team lost to
Lynchburg College this evening 0-3 (12-25, 12-25, 10-25).
Lynchburg College started the night with a nine point streak
giving them a 10-2 advantage in Set 1. The Hornets had 15
kills while MBC finished with only 5.
In the second set, Mary Baldwin kept the score much closer
trailing Lynchburg 7-9. The visitors then went on a 16-5 run
giving them a convincing 25-12 win.
In the final set, Lynchburg again jumped out quickly to an 11-3
lead and rolled to a 25-10 victory.
Sophomore Karla Bethea finished the night with 7 kills while
Sophomore Jonquil Brown added 5. Senior Paige Babb added 10
assists. Sophomore LaToya Diggs and Freshman Kayla Wheeler
each contributed 6 digs.
The Fighting Squirrels will travel to Washington and Lee this
weekend for a tri-match before returning home Tuesday evening to
take on Roanoke College at 7:00 PM.
