STAUNTON, VA - NC Wesleyan College defeated Mary Baldwin College 69-46 this afternoon to improve their record to 5-8 (4-2 USAS).

In the first half, the Fighting Squirrels battled back from a 13-20 deficit.  With 6:22 remaining, Jazmine Brooks sank a free throw then Sheridan Lawrence quickly added a jumper to pull the home team to within 6.  Meagan Barron added a three point shot and Jazmine Brooks added another jumper to pull MBC to within 4.  The two teams traded baskets as the clock ticked away and the visitors took a 35-31 lead into the locker room.

The second half was dominated by the visitors as they controlled the boards out rebounding MBC 66-38 in the game. 

Meagan Barron led the Fighting Squirrels with 14 points.  She was followed closely by Jazmine Brooks with 11. 

Sheridan Lawrence finished the day with 14 rebounds while Lindsey Poirot added 9.

NC Wesleyan College was led by Samantha Urquhart who finished with 22 points and 19 rebounds.

Mary Baldwin College falls to 0-13 (0-6 USAS). 

On Wednesday they host Averett University at 7:00PM in a USA South Conference matchup.
