Raleigh, NC - Mary Baldwin College dropped to 0-9 on the season losing to Meredith College 28-82 in their first game of the new year.

Meredith's defensive pressure caused numerous turnovers for the Fighting Squirrels giving the Avenging Angels easy baskets throughout the game.  MBC was also unable to keep Meredith off the boards as the home team outrebounded Mary Baldwin 57-30 with 35 of those rebounds coming off of their own basket.

Senior Shamanda Washington led the visitors with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The Fighting Squirrels remain in Raleigh to play William Peace Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm.
