Roanoke, VA - Roanoke College got its second win over Mary Baldwin College this season in volleyball defeating the Fighting Squirrels 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-13) this evening in a non-conference matchup.

The Maroons jumped out to an early 11-1 lead in the first set.  The Fighting Squirrels then took advantage of some errors by the home team and fought back to trail 13-9.  Roanoke took 5 of the next 7 points to build their lead and eventually take the 25-15 win.

In the second set, Mary Baldwin found themselves out front 9-7.  Six points by Roanoke gave them back the lead.  Then with a run of their own, Mary Baldwin fought back to within two before watching Roanoke score seven unanswered points and take the second set.

The third set was all Roanoke, as the Fighting Squirrels struggled to score.  

Katelyn Rice lead Mary Baldwin with 12 kills.  Sara Valdivieso contributed 12 assists.  The defense was led by Anahi Trujillo-Camorlinga who finished with 12 digs.

Mary Baldwin College will play again on Saturday at Greensboro College taking on USA South opponents Piedmont College and Greensboro College.
