Box Score 2 GREENSBORO, NC - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team fell
to 0-18 (0-9 USAS) this afternoon losing 0-3 to Piedmont College
and Greensboro College.
In the first match, Piedmont improved their record to 18-2 (5-1
USAS) when they defeated Mary Baldwin (25-7, 25-13, 25-12).
The Lady Lions quickly took the lead in the first set and never
looked back finishing the match with 15 aces.
Katelyn Rice led Mary Baldwin with 8 kills while Sara Valdivieso
added 16 assists and 5 digs. Anahi Trujillo-Camorlinga also
contributed 5 digs.
The second set proved to be a repeat of the first with
Greensboro College winning (25-7, 25-14, 25-12). The Pride
pounded the Fighting Squirrels with great execution finishing the
match with 37 kills while committing only 5 errors.
Katelyn Rice led the offense with 11 kills while Sara Valdivieso
added 13 assists. The entire team shared the defense with
Anahi Trujillo-Camorlinga leading with 4 digs.
Head Coach Paul Yee said, "We had most of our team doing
different things today because of our current circumstances.
We tried to do what we could and I commend them for
that. I think we had some good moments and I know we'll have
more in the future."
Mary Baldwin College (0-18, 0-9USAS) will have little time to
recover. They host Emory and Henry Sunday at 1:00pm in a
non-conference matchup.
