Box Score ROANOKE, VA - The Mary Baldwin College basketball team fell to
Hollins University 50-72 this evening in a non-conference
matchup.
Both teams struggled offensively in the first ten minutes of the
game as Hollins held a slight 14-6 lead. The home team then
built a 35-19 lead in the final ten minutes as they controlled the
boards out-rebounding the Fighting Squirrels 29-13 in the
first half.
In the second half, Hollins continued to build their lead to 24
behind Chanci Wright who shot a perfect 5-5 from the field and 3-3
from the free throw line in the final 20 minutes. The 6'0
Senior finished the night with a game-high 18 points and 7
rebounds.
Senior Shanice Miles led Mary Baldwin with 16 points and 7
boards. She was followed by sophomore Precious Parker who
finished with 9 points and 6 rebounds.
Mary Baldwin College 0-3 (0-0 USAS) play their first home
contest Tuesday, November 26 when they host Eastern Mennonite.
Tip-off is 6:00PM.
