Greensboro, NC - Mary Baldwin College lost to Greensboro College 56-84 this afternoon in a USA South matchup.

Jenna Cabe scored 5 quick points to give Greensboro College the early lead.  Jazmine Brooks answered quickly with a jumper putting MBC on the scoreboard.  The Pride then built a lead throughout the first half using a full court press and controling the boards.

Despite a 19 point deficit at the half, the Fighting Squirrels battled throughout the second half.  MBC was finally able to overcome their offensive woes scoring 35 points in the final 20 minutes.  

MBC was never able to cut into the Pride lead as Greensboro outrebounded MBC 61-35.  Offensive rebounding was particularly critical as Greensboro held a 30-6 advantage over Mary Baldwin at the end of the game.

Senior Shamanda Washington led Mary Baldwin with 28 points and 6 rebounds.  Sophomore Shanice Miles added 15 points and led in rebounding with 7.

For the first time this season, MBC finished the game with a higher shooting percentage than their opponents in field goals, three points shots, and free throws.  

Mary Baldwin College 0-20 (0-13 USAS) will travel to Averett University this Wednesday.  Tipoff is 7:00pm.
