Box Score RALEIGH, NC - Meredith College moved to the top of the USA South
standings this afternoon after defeating Mary Baldwin 7-0 in
women's soccer. The Avenging Angels are currently tied for
first place with Maryville College as both schools post 5-0
conference records.
Meredith's Meredith McCarty and Christa Jackson led the home
team with two goals each.
The game was never in doubt as Meredith scored six goals in the
first half on their way to the 7-0 win. The Avenging Angels
out shot Mary Baldwin 50-4.
Samantha Chong started in the goal for the Fighting Squirrels
and tallied 7 saves. Katherine Carrillo-Perez also played
goalkeeper for Mary Baldwin and added 11 saves. The team also
added 9 saves to the 27 total saves.
Mary Baldwin College 2-7 (0-5 USA South) hosts Averett
University at home on Saturaday.
