Box Score Rocky Mount, NC - N.C. Wesleyan College improved their record to
8-5-1 this afternoon in women's soccer with a 6-0 win over Mary
Baldwin College in USA South action.
Rebecca Staylor got an early hat trick scoring the home team's
first three goals in the first 20 minutes of play. Jade Gold
added a goal to give N.C. Wesleyan a 4-0 halftime lead.
Staylor added a fourth goal in the second half while teammate
Nicole Liette got her first goal of the season to give their team
the 6-0 win.
The Battling Bishops outshot the Fighting Squirrels 19-2 in the
first 45 minutes and finished the game with a 34-3 shot
advantage. N.C. Wesleyan also held a 10-1 advantage in corner
kicks.
Mary Baldwin's freshman goalkeeper, Hayley Gillian, tallied 12
saves in the game.
Mary Baldwin College 2-12 (0-10 USAS) play their final home game
this Friday against William Peace. The Fighting Squirrels
will celebrate Senior Day just before the game starts at 3:00
PM.
