STAUNTON, VA - Meredith College defeated Mary Baldwin College 63-49 this afternoon in women's basketball action.

The Avenging Angels built a 14-point lead in the first half shooting over 40% from the floor and creating 13 Mary Baldwin turnovers. 

Mary Baldwin tried to come back in the second half, but struggled beyond the arc as Meredith kept defensive pressure on Shanice Miles all afternoon.  The home team shot just 2-13 from three-point range and 23% from the floor in the second half.

Shanice Miles led all scorers with 17 points while Lindsey Poirot finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.  Jazmine Brooks added 10 rebounds and 9 points.

Meredith was led by McKenzie Edwards with 14 points.

Mary Baldwin College (0-22, 0-16 USAS) will face Ferrum College Wednesday night in their final home game of the season before going on the road next weekend.
