Turnovers Plague Fighting Squirrels

Rocky Mount, NC - Mary Baldwin College fell to N.C. Wesleyan College this afternoon in women's basketball 50-78.

The Fighting Squirrels trailed by just one with 12 minutes remaining when the home team began to pull away. Netaih Davis sank two field goals followed by 2 free throws to give the Bishops a five point lead.  

N.C. Wesleyan held a 13 point lead at the half and jumped out quickly in the second half building their lead to 22 points at the 17:00 minute mark.

Mary Baldwin shot well making 42% of their field goals but continued to be plagued by turnovers giving up 24 points off of the errors.  N.C. Wesleyan also dominated the boards grabbing 41 rebounds to Mary Baldwin's 29.

Shanice Miles again led Mary Baldwin with 21 points while Kaybria Johnson grabbed 6 rebounds for the Fighting Squirrels.

The home team was led by Tiffany Bell with 17 points.  She was followed closely by Netaih Davis with 16.

Mary Baldwin College (0-24, 0-18 USAS) will finish the season tomorrow when they take on Methodist University on the road.  Game time is 1:00pm.
