STAUNTON, VA - Methodist University pulled out to a quick 12-0 lead in the first five minutes of play and never looked back as they defeated Mary Baldwin 68-45 this afternoon in USA South action.

The Monarchs used a solid defense to build a 24-7 lead in the first 10 minutes then take a 42-20 lead at the half.  The visitors used a balanced scoring attack and tight defense to control the game.

Jazmine Brooks led Mary Baldwin with 14 points, going 12 for 12 from the line, while Shanice Miles added 12 points and 9 rebounds.  Precious Parker had another good day grabbing 8 rebounds for the Fighting Squirrels.

Methodist University was led by Miriya Bryant with 8 points and Kelsey Harrington with 10 rebounds.

The Fighting Squirrels 0-19 (0-13 USAS) will travel to Averett University Wednesday.  Game time is 6:00 PM.
