Box Score 2 HARRISONBURG, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team lost
their final two matches today at the Eastern Mennonite Invitational
Volleyball Tournament. The Fighting Squirrels fell to Goucher
and Hood 0-3.
Goucher took early leads in each of the three sets winning
25-16, 25-15, 25-13. Errors continued to plague the young
team as Mary Baldwin committed 18 attack errors to only 6 by the
Gophers. The Fighting Squirrels also had difficulty on
defense finishing the match with 15 receive errors while Goucher
committed only 4.
Mary Baldwin played a much closer match against Hood in the
final contest of the weekend losing 21-25, 27-29, and 15-25.
Katelyn Rice once again led Mary Baldwin's offense totaling 29
kills today. Reilly Kelly added 41 assists while Xenna
Belfield led the defense with 44 digs.
For her efforts, Katelyn Rice was named to the all-tournament
team.
Mary Baldwin College (0-4, 0-0 USAS) play their first home match
Wednesday evening when they host Eastern Mennonite in a
non-conference matchup.
