Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College soccer team fell to
Christendom this afternoon in their first home game of the season
1-5.
Christendom jumped out to a 1-0 lead at the 25:24 minute mark
when Dylan Burgess got her first goal of the season
unassisted. The visitors were able to capitalize on their
opportunities in the first half adding a second goal before the
break.
In the final 45 minutes, Mary Baldwin battled to create more
shots but only Mayzie Lewis could find the back of the net scoring
the Fighting Squirrels only goal at the 72:56 minute
mark.
The Crusaders continued their scoring streak adding three goals
in the second half as they rolled to the 1-5 win.
Dylan Burgess finished with two goals and one assist.
Mary Baldwin College (0-2, 0-0 USAS) will have some time to
regroup before traveling to Washington D.C. for their next game on
September 12 against Trinity. The team then returns home on
September 14 against Hollins.
