Box Score 2 STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team hosted a USA South Tri-match today with Greensboro College and Piedmont College.
In the first match, Piedmont defeated Mary Baldwin in straight sets 25-19, 25-13, 25-17.
The Lions were led by Kaitlyn Loesel and Mallory Leary who tallied 7 and 6 kills respectively. Emily Peters added 27 assists. The visitors played well at the net finishing with 10 block assists.
Mary Baldwin was led by Katelyn Rice with 6 kills and Sarah Crumbly and Samantha McGee who added 4 each. McGee also led the team with 8 digs. Reilly Kelly tallied 17 assists in the first set and 7 digs.
In the second set of the day, Piedmont College defeated Greensboro College in a tight match 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, 23-25, 15-6.
Mary Baldwin fell to Greensboro in the final match of the day 15-25, 15-25, 21-25.
Four Greensboro players finished with 4 kills each. Tori Belcher led the team with 14 digs while Darrian Bolt added 13 assists.
Rice again led the home team with 8 kills. Farrah Fullerton added 6 kills while Samantha McGee and Jacklyn Lamoy tallied 5 each. Reilly Kelly finished the match with 24 assists while Makayla Scott led the defense with 14 digs.
Mary Baldwin College 2-22 (0-12 USAS) will continue to look for their first conference win on Tuesday when they travel to William Peace University.
