Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team hosted a USA South Quad match this weekend with Greensboro College and the top two teams in the South Division. Covenant College (8-1 USAS) currently holds the top spot while Maryville College (9-2 USAS) sits in second place. The two teams have split their head-to-head matches while Maryville also has a loss to Averett University.
In the first match, Maryville defeated Mary Baldwin 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-17). The Scots were led by Rachel Kozemko who tallied 10 kills. The team was also helped by totaling 12 service aces.
Farrah Fullerton and Samantha McGee led the Fighting Squirrels with 7 kills each. They were followed closely by Katelyn Rice who added 6 kills. Reilly Kelly finished with 17 assists. Kelly also led the defense with 11 kills while Makayla Scott tallied 10 digs.
In Mary Baldwin's second match against Covenant, the Fighting Squirrels also fell 0-3 (25-18, 25-20, 25-18.)
Ginny Moore led the visitors with 14 kills.
Mary Baldwin was led by Katelyn Rice with 10 kills and Farrah Fullerton who added 8 kills. Reilly Kelly finished with 26 assists. Makayla Scott led the defense with 17 digs. Kelly and Rice each added 11 and 10 digs respectively.
Mary Baldwin College 2-15 (0- 15 USAS) play their final home match of the year on Wednesday against Averett University. The Cougars currently lead the North Division of the USA South Conference.
