Soccer Loses at Peace 1-4

RALIEGH, NC - The Mary Baldwin Soccer team fell to William Peace University 1-4 this afternoon in a USA South Conference matchup.

Alyssa Gasperini gave Peace the lead at the 34:06 minute mark when she took a pass from teammate Amelia Melching then beat a defender to score.

With a 1-0 lead at the half, Peace also held a 7-3 shot advantage.  Mary Baldwin's goalkeeper Brittany Tenn tallied 6 saves in the first 45 minutes. 

Three minutes into the second half, Gasperini added her second goal of the day giving Peace a comfortable 2-0 lead.  The Pacers quickly added a third goal.

Mary Baldwin continued to battle and got on the board when Bailey McWilliams scored at the 76:25 minute mark.

Melching answered for the Pacers scoring her first goal of the day with just over five minutes to play.

With the win, Peace improved their record to 4-6 in the USA South Conference.

Mary Baldwin College falls to 3-12 (0-10 USAS).  The Fighting Squirrels face Meredith tomorrow in a game that was rescheduled then finish the season at home on Wednesday when they host Greensboro College.
