Meredith Defeats Soccer

RALEIGH, NC - Meredith College, who sits second in the USA South Conference standings,  defeated Mary Baldwin College this afternoon in women's soccer 8-0.

The Avenging Angels struck early and often.  Meghan Ingram scored their first goal just 6:15 into the game.  Jessica Wallace added the next two goals at the 8:42 and 10:52 minute marks. 

Kathryn McNeil followed with a pair of goals giving Meredith a 5-0 lead.  Ashton Allen then scored the next two goals for the home team.

Meredith's final goal of the half and the game came at the 39:36 minute mark in the first half.

The Avenging Angels outshot the Fighting Squirrels 22-0 and held a 3-0 advantage in corner kicks in the first half.

Brittany Tenn and Samantha Chong each anchored the goal for 45 minutes for Mary Baldwin.  Tenn tallied 7 saves while Chong finished with 6 saves.

Mary Baldwin College 3-13 (0-11 USAS) finishes the season at home on Wednesday when they host Greensboro College at 4:00 PM.
