Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College soccer team lost to Greensboro College 1-5 this afternoon in their final game of the season.
The Fighting Squirrels scored just 13 seconds into the game when Mayzie Lewis scored off of a pass from Brenda Santamaria.
Greensboro tied the game at the 30:02 minute mark.
At the half, Greensboro had outshot Mary Baldwin 9-2 and held a 5-1 corner kick advantage.
The visitors quickly took the lead just minutes into the second half when Lauren Greeson scored for the Pride. Greensboro added 3 more goals in the final period to take the 5-1 win.
Four players anchored the goal for Mary Baldwin. Samantha Chong finished the night with 3 saves. Brittany Tenn also tallied a save. Bethany Rusticelli and Jannelly Ramos played the goalkeeper position as well.
Mary Baldwin College finishes the season with an overall record of 3-14. With the win today, Greensboro earned a spot in the USA South tournament finishing in sixth place. The top eight teams in the conference play the first round of the tournament Saturday at the higher seed.
