Box Score 2 FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team fell to 0-9 in the USA South Conference today with a pair of losses to Meredith College 0-3 (25-13, 25-14, 25-21) and Methodist University 0-3 (25-9, 25-11, 25-11).
Meredith, who currently stands second in the north division, was led by Karlie Long who tallied 14 kills and Haley Reeg with 9 kills and no errors. Meredith was also solid at the net with 6 block assists. Serving also helped the Avenging Angels who finished the match with 12 serve aces.
Mary Baldwin brought a more balanced attack with Farrah Fullerton leading with 6 kills. She was followed closely by Katelyn Rice, Jacklyn Lamoy, and Jessica Hickman who all had 5 kills. Reilly Kelly added 22 assists and 7 digs. Makayla Scott led the defense with 10 digs.
In the second match against Methodist, the Monarchs controlled the net finishing with 12 block assists. Jordan Tew led the offense with 10 kills and was followed by Brittany Ter Mer with 8 kills. Tew also tallied 4 serve aces.
The Fighting Squirrels were led by Katelyn Rice who finished with 7 kills. Reilly Kelly tallied 14 assists while Makayla Scott again led the defense with 9 digs.
Mary Baldwin College 2-19 (0-9 USAS) will be home next week. They host NC Wesleyan College Thursday evening and a USA South Tri-Match on Saturday with Piedmont College and Greensboro College.
