Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College basketball team fell to Greenboro College 40-78 this evening in women's basketball.
Greensboro jumped out to a 25-8 lead with 7:45 remaining in the half. Mary Baldwin came roaring back when a jumper by Precious Parker started a 14-4 run by the home team.
Greensboro answered with a 14-3 run to end the half and take a 43-25 lead into the locker room. Tiffani Stephens, the Pride's 6'4" center, dominated the inside tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds in the half.
Kaybria Johnson led Mary Baldwin with 14 points going 4 for 8 from behind the arc.
Both teams committed 9 turnovers and 5 steals but Greensboro controlled with the boards in the first half with the help of Stephens.
Both teams' slowed offensively in the second half but Greensboro continued to build their lead as Mary Baldwin simply couldn't matchup with their inside game.
The Pride finished with 50 rebounds to Mary Baldwin's 29 and scored 20 points off of offensive rebounds.
Greensboro College improved their record to 14-3 (9-2 USAS) while Mary Baldwin drops to 0-17 (0-11 USAS).
MBC travels to North Carolina this weekend taking on N.C. Wesleyan College and Methodist University.
