GREENSBORO, NC - Greensboro College defeated Mary Baldwin College in straight sets this evening in women's volleyball.

The two teams battled to an 18-18 tie in the first set.  Greensboro then took the next seven of nine points tallying two kills and a service ace winning 20-25.

Leading 10-9 in the next set, Greensboro then scored 9 of the next 10 points taking a commanding 19-10 lead.  The Fighting Squirrels then struggled to put points on the board as the home team tallied 4 service aces on their way to a 25-17 win.

In the final set, Greensboro jumped out to a 4-0 lead and rolled to a 25-14 final set win.

Greensboro was led by Evan Sherer and Meredith Summers who each finished with 7 kills.

Katelyn Rice led Mary Baldwin with 5 kills.  She was followed closely by Farrah Fullerton who added 4 kills.  Reilly Kelly finished with 14 assists.  Xenna Belfield led the defense with 9 digs. 

Mary Baldwin College 2-10 (0-1 USAS) returns to Greensboro on Saturday to take on USA South opponents Meredith College and Methodist University.
