STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin College volleyball team played their home opener this evening against non-conference matchup Lynchburg College.  The Hornets played a nearly flawless match and won 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-11.)

The visitors used a balanced scoring attack and executed their offense committing just 3 attack errors all evening.  Jennifer Garrett led Lynchburg with 9 kills. 

Mary Baldwin's offense was led by Katelyn Rice  who finished with 7 kills.  She was followed closely by Jessica Hickman who added 6.  Setter Riley Kelly added 14 assists while freshman Jemicka Welborne led the defense with 12 digs.

Mary Baldwin will continue to prepare for their conference schedule this weekend when they travel to Harrisonburg to play in the Eastern Mennonite Invitational Friday and Saturday before returning home next week.
