Randolph Improves Record With Win Over MBC

LYNCHBURG, VA - Randolph College improved their record with an 86-40 win over Mary Baldwin College Saturday afternoon.

Taylor Samuels scored six points in the first quarter to give Randolph a 19-5 lead in the first period.  The home team continued to build on their lead in the second period and held a 42-15 advantage at the half.

Mary Baldwin was able to put more points on the board in the final twenty minutes, but couldn't overcome the first half deficit.

Randolph controlled the inside outscoring Mary Baldwin 50-12 in the paint.  The Wildcats also took advantage of errors scoring 32 points off of Mary Baldwin turnovers.

Randolph was led by Rebecca Harvey who scored a game-high 16 points while Korin Harris came off the bench to grab 12 rebounds.

Mary Baldwin was led by Juanaysa Singletary who scored 10 points and Teanna Peavy who finished the day with 12 rebounds.

Mary Baldwin College 0-10 (0-2 USAS) continue their conference schedule on Wednesday when they travel to Methodist University.
