Sweet Briar Stops Soccer

STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin University soccer team fell to Sweet Briar College 0-2 this afternoon in women's soccer.

The visitors struck early scoring off of a breakaway. Des'rae Davis passed from the middle to Jona Dumanl who scored off of a short shot from the right side.  It was Dumanl's first goal of the season.

Lacey Tucker gave the Vixens an insurance goal at the 35 minute mark off of a pass from Elizabeth Phaup.

Sweet Briar outshot Mary Baldwin 15-8 for the game and tallied 7 corner kicks. 

Brittany Tenn continued to play goalkeeper for the Fighting Squirrels and finished the day with 7 saves.

Mary Baldwin University, 0-5, continue play this weekend when they open conference play at Methodist University then finish on Sunday at N.C. Wesleyan College.

 

Jannelly Ramos is tackled as she attempts to score against Sweet Briar.
