Box Score STAUNTON, VA - The Bridgewater College women's volleyball team defeated Mary Baldwin University 3-1 (25-12, 25-18, 24-26, 25-10) this evening in a non-conference matchup.
The Eagles jumped out in the first set with a nearly flawless offense tallying 16 kills while only committing one error. The visitors continued to execute well in the second set adding 12 kills and only 4 errors.
Mary Baldwin stormed back in the third set to win 26-24. The Fighting Squirrels tallied 15 kills and executed when needed. Tied at 24, Katelyn Rice scored on a kill and Reilly Kelly followed with an ace to give Mary Baldwin the win.
The final set proved to be all Bridgewater as the Eagles jumped out to a 12-2 lead on their way to a 25-10 win and the match.
Katelyn Rice led Mary Baldwin with 18 kills. Farrah Fullerton added 9. Reilly Kelly finished with 30 assists. The defense was led by Xenna Belfield with 18 digs while Rice followed with 15 and Makayla Scott added 12.
Mary Baldwin University, 3-6 (0-0 USAS), continue play Thursday when they host Eastern Mennonite University.
