STAUNTON, VA - The Mary Baldwin University volleyball team battled Randolph College in their home opener this evening.  Randolph took the win in straight sets 25-9, 25-4, 25-19.

Randolph jumped out quickly in the first two sets 4-1 and rolled to take a commanding 2-0 lead.

Mary Baldwin came back in the third set, jumping out to a 4-0 lead.  The two teams battled to a 17-17 tie.  Randolph then took the lead tallying two kills and three service aces.  Mary Baldwin's Brittany Sharon answered with a kill but it was too little too late as Randolph took the 25-19 win.

Mary Baldwin Univeristy, 0-5, was led by Brittany Sharon with 4 kills.  Brenda Korlison followed closely with 3 kills.  Kelley Slack added 7 assists while also leading the defense with 5 digs.

Mary Baldwin continues play Wednesday at home taking on Hollins University at 7:00 pm.
