Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mary Baldwin played Greensboro College to a 1-1 double-overtime draw Wednesday and, as a result, clinched a spot in the conference tournament. With just one game remaining in the regular season, the Squirrels can finish no lower than fourth place in the division. The top five teams qualify for the tournament.
MBU took the lead early when Elena Guy scored just 2:01 into the game for a 1-0 lead. The Squirrels hung on to the lead until the 72nd minute when the Pride evened the score.
Greensboro held a 20-8 edge in total shots while MBU had a slim 2-1 edge in corner kicks.
Mary Baldwin goalkeeper Nyasia Hawkins finished the contest with 14 saves.
MBU, now 8-5-2 and 4-2-2 in the conference will play its final regular season contest Saturday when the Squirrels travel to Pfeiffer.
