Box Score Mary Baldwin played its final home game of the regular season Wednesday night, falling to Southern Virginia in three sets 24-14, 24-13, 24-13.
Mary Baldwwin led early in the opening set, 8-6, on a kill by Hannah Mayers and a kill by Rachel Christian had MBU even at 9-9. The Knights scored the next three points to take the lead for good and pulled away for the 25-14 victory.
In the next two sets, Southern Virginia started strong, jumping out to big leads early and defeating the Squirrels 24-13 in each set.
Sydney Clarke paced the Squirrels with seven kills and Alexis Edmonds added five. Kate Rudolph had 11 assists and Soleil Rios Rolon led the team with nine digs.
Mary Baldwin closes out its regular season on Saturday with a trip to Miesnheimer, N.C., for matches against Pfeiffer and Salem.
