Box Score 2 MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Mary Baldwin volleyball team closed out its regular season, losing a pair of matches in conference play at a quad match hosted by Pfeiffer. Pfeiffer swept MBU 3-0 while Salem edged the Squirrels in a tough match, 3-2.
Mary Baldwin got off to a slow start in the morning match against Pfeiffer, losing the first set 25-9. Pfeiffer took the next two sets 25-18, 25-20 to complete the sweep.
Rachel Christian led the Squirrels with 11 kills. Kate Rudolph had 13 assists and Soleil Rios Rolon added a team-high 14 digs.
In the closest match of the season, Salem emerged with a tough five-set victory. MBU won the first set 25-22 before Salem evened the match with a 26-24 win in the second set. MBU took the third set 25-23, but Salem stayed alive with a win in the fourth set 25-23. Salem took the match with a 15-11 win in the deciding fifth set.
Sydney Clarke had a huge match with 24 kills and Christian added 14 kills. Rudolph finished with 31 assists and Emily Link added 18 helpers. Rolon finished with 19 digs.
Mary Baldwin finishes the season with a 5-25 overall record and a 1-17 mark in conference play.
