Box Score The Mary Baldwin women's' basketball team won its fourth consecutive game on Sunday after taking down Pfeiffer 86-69.
Jalen Gathers led the Fighting Squirrels (5-4, 5-4 USA South) after scoring a career-high, 28 points. Leah Calhoun also had 22 points.
The Fighting Squirrels jumped out to an early lead, up 24-12 at the end of the first quarter. Piffer cut that lead to eight, as MBU took a 35-27 advantage into the half.
After the Fighting Squirrels' lead increased to 15 in third, the Falcons would get themselves back in it again, as they cut it to six at 66-60 with 7:50 to go in the fourth.
Mary Baldwin finished strong, as a 13 point run put them back up 15 at just under the halfway mark of the fourth, and they would take it from there.
The Fighting Squirrels were 33-of-74 (44.6 %) from the field. On the other side, the Falcons were 24-of-66 (36.4 %).
Brina Bentley led Pfeiffer with 20 points.
MBU will square off the Falcons again on Monday, for its game originally scheduled on Friday. Tipoff is slated for 6:00 p.m.
