Volleyball Falls Twice to Greensboro

GREENSBORO, NC – Mary Baldwin freshman Sydney Clarke exploded for 17 of her 20 kills in the nightcap match in the Fighting Squirrels' 3-0, 3-1 volleyball losses at Greensboro Thursday.

The attack was balanced in the first match, where Greensboro posted victories of 25-12, 25-13 and 25-15.  Jada Keene led MBU with four kills while Clarke added three and Emily Link chipped in 10 assists and six digs.

MBU won the second game of the second match and went down to the wire in the third game.  Game scores were 25-18, 22-25, 25-23 and 25-15 favoring Greensboro.  Clarke had 17 kills, a service ace, two block assists and 14 digs to lead MBU.  Megan Andrews was second on the team with eight kills and contributed to five blocks while Link had 33 of the Fighting Squirrels 40 assists and added 13 digs.

MBU returns to action Tuesday, April 6, with a USA South Conference contest at Averett, then returns to the Staunton PAC Sunday, April 11, for a season-ending doubleheader against Meredith.
