Playing No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles, Mary Baldwin freshman Austin Garza contributed six points to lead the Fighting Squirrels in Sunday's 9-0 USA South men's tennis loss at Methodist.
Garza teamed with Connor Lindhjem in an 8-1 loss at No. 1 doubles to Owen Findlay and Samir Tewari. At No. 2 singles, Garza fell to Bridger Warlick, 6-3, 6-2. At No. 1 singles, Lindhjem won one game in each set against Hayden Holloway.
The Fighting Squirrels finished their first varsity season with an 0-13 overall record.
