Box Score Randolph College scored the go-ahead goal in the 76th minute Saturday afternoon and the WildCats held on for a 2-1 victory over Mary Baldwin at SMA Worth Field.
Randolph's Sarah Bane scored the lone goal of the first half as the WildCats led 1-0 at the break.
MBU pulled even early in the second half when Annie Ammons worked free from her defender to find shooting space and her shot from 35 yards out sailed over the goalie's head and into the net to tie the score, 1-1. The goal was the fourth of the season for Ammons.
Randolph regained the lead when Bane worked past a defender to score her second goal of the day, giving the visitors a 2-1 lead late in the game.
MBU held a 13-12 edge in shots. The Squirrels had several scoring opportunities, putting 11 of their shots on frame,
Mary Baldwin, now 3-1 on the season, is back in action Tuesday when the Squirrels host Eastern Mennonite.
