SALEM, Va. – The 2022 Maroon Classic continued on Saturday, as the Mary Baldwin University women's volleyball team played two matches on the campus of Roanoke College.

The Fighting Squirrels dropped the first match of the day 3-1 (20-25, 13-25 25-16, 18-25) to Hollins before playing Roanoke to a 3-1 loss (23-25, 17-25, 22-25, 15-25).

In the second match of the afternoon, Rachel Christian led the team offensively with 15 kills. Sydney Clarke tallied 13 kills while Soleil Rios Rolon led the team with 14 digs. Emily Penny also ended the day with a season high five service aces. She started the first set with four straight service aces.

The Fighting Squirrels will be back in action on September 13, at 6 pm, when they travel to Roanoke to take on Hollins University.
